Joss is a clinical ambassador for the Mouth Cancer Foundation and part of the working party updating the 2021 GOV.UK DBOH guidelines in the prevention and early detection of mouth cancer. Joss is part of the United Kingdom Oral Management in Cancer care group (UKOMIC) and the World Dental Federation (FDI) consensus group. Joss is currently studying an MSc in Advanced and Specialist Healthcare at Kent University and is delighted to have a book published by Wiley, “Care of Head and Neck Cancer Patients for Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists”.

Yvonne completed her diploma in Dental Hygiene at the Dublin Dental University & Hospital in 2009 and a BSc in Oral Health Promotion with the O’Hehir University, Canada in 2022. Yvonne has worked in private specialist practice’s and general dental practices since 2009.

In 2016 she began a role as dental hygiene tutor in the Dublin Dental School & Hospital. Yvonne’s clinical areas of interest are the management of dental implants, and gingival recession.

Manjit qualified with Honours as a Dental Hygienist from University College Cork (Rep. of Ireland) in 2004 and was awarded the Castellini Award for the highest clinical skillset in her year. She has also undertaken postgraduate education and completed an MSc in Advanced Periodontal Practice from The University of Essex in 2018. She has held a part-time (bank) Clinical Lecturer at The University of Portsmouth-Dental Academy and is currently a Clinical Instructor on the “Back to Practice” course and more recently a BSDHT mentor.

Rachael England

Rachael England
Special interest:  Public health

Rachael qualified as a dental hygienist in 2006 and has extensive experience working in the United Kingdom and internationally. Currently, she works as an Education and Public Health Manager at FDI World Dental Federation in Geneva. Rachael achieved her Master’s in Public Health with merit in 2018 and she is currently studying for a Doctorate in Public Health at Teesside University. Rachael was recently awarded the “Early Career Researcher Award” from the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry and “New Research Award” at the International Dental Hygienist Symposium.

Ru is a dental hygienist who qualified in 1995 from the Eastman Dental Hospital. Her career has progressed with many exciting opportunities, these being from practice management to teaching, mentoring and assessing. In 2018 she started a journey in facial aesthetics, firstly concentrating on the skin then onto injectables. Ru opened her own skin and aesthetics clinic in 2020 and this year she has set up her own training academy with Lauri Wood. Her dream is to gain VCTC status and train up to level 7.

Pat is a dental therapist who also does facial aesthetics procedures. He has been trained by the world renowned Prof Bob Khanna. Pat had been involved in education for years and is an NSK Ikigai Oral Hygiene Community educator.

Anna Peterson
Special interest: Posterior composites & social media

Anna has worked alongside Periodontists for almost 5 years which has strengthened her keen interest in improving patients’ oral health. She does this through education within the clinical setting and more recently on social media. Through social media Anna hopes to raise the awareness of what a dental therapist is to the public.
